An increasingly common meme in my life is hearing people dissing capitalism 🤔
I wonder if these people understand the fundamental tenets of capitalism.
Most ironic to me is hearing entrepreneurs lament capitalism 😳
I appreciate that the U.S. economy and the U.S. dollar are in decline.
Our current method isn’t working, no.
But our current method isn’t capitalism y’all❗️
What we have is something more akin to socialism, masquerading as capitalism.
This is not the time to be fooled by the emperor’s clothes 🧥
Understand, in a capitalistic economy the pool of consumers are in control.
Consumers drive the market 📈
That’s you! You’re the consumer 🤩
Do you feel in control of the economy? Or your portion of it anyway?
Probably not as much as you’d like to 😐
We have a variety of barriers and bonds that are creating an economy controlled by monopolies from an economy that is supposed to be controlled by the people.
(Thanks, government “regulatory” agencies…)
This manipulation significantly imbalances the system. In effect, destroying true capitalism 📉
Consumers 👩🏼🦰
(1) Often lack comprehensive, honest information about products and services
(2) Are subject to a range of manipulative influences, from marketing to government propaganda, and, due to (1), are not prepared to navigate these influences
Monopolies 🏢
(1) have a higher vested interest in surviving than in destroying their competition, and so will collaborate with other monopolies to ensure mutual survival
Regulatory Agencies 🤑
(1) Have endless conflicts of interest in their roles as public advocates
(2) Have subpar to atrocious track records
THIS IS NO LONGER CAPITALISM, FOLKS.
And we’ll only slip further into an increasingly Orwellian society by allowing this meme to spread of insinuating and/or believing that what we have IS capitalism and that it needs to change for our benefit.
Don’t let the emperor fool ya darlin’ 🍆
Especially to my entrepreneurs out there:
I’M PRETTY SURE YOU WANT TO LIVE IN A CAPITALIST SOCIETY.
Assuming you believe in your product/service’s quality, marketability, and benevolence-
Assuming you genuinely want to run a successful business and all the special kinds of work that go into this-
Assuming to are truly willing and able to be personally responsible-
I’m pretty sure you want capitalism.
I hear that you don’t want this bullshit, the economic corruption that’s been gradually increasing, and exponentially so over the past ~100 years.
I’m with you there ✊🏼
Don’t let your focus be misdirected.
Tune in to the real barriers-
Certain lack of corporate regulation and the regulations favoring corporations over the public 😵
Use your power as a consumer to the extent you can. Put your dollar where your mouth is 💵 💳
Educate yourself. It’s a lot harder to be gaslit by authorities when you can see the bigger pictures and parse nuances 🗺️🧐
